Let me start off by saying that when two people have children they’re responsible for supporting them financially until they’re able to do so on their own. Child support is money that is to be used for the child’s benefit not the mother’s or father’s. I’m not giving kudos to T.I. for doing something that he’s suppose to be doing in the first place, being a responsible adult.
Rapper T.I. was ordered to pay more than $3,ooo (per child) a month in child support for his two sons that he had with his ex, LaShon Dixon. Originally T.I. was paying over $2,000 (per child) a month in addition to their school tuition, extracurricular activities and medical expenses. T.I. also bought Dixon a house, which he was not ordered or obligated to do but because he wanted to make sure that his sons were living in comfortable surroundings when they weren’t staying with him.
Miss Dixon felt the need to take T.I. to court again because she wanted her boys to live the lifestyle they had become accustomed to whenever they are with their father. When asked what she does with the money she receives, Dixon responded that she puts it into a savings account that will be used for the boys college education. Personally I think that $6000 a month in child support is enough. I mean unless she’s not being honest about putting that money into a savings account and she’s spending the money on herself or frivilous items.
So I’m wondering if Miss Dixon realizes she’s better of than most women in her situation. Not only is the father of her children doing what he’s suppose to do, paying child support but she also got a house out of the deal as well. If Dixon wanted more money then the easiest way for her to get it is to get a job (if she isn’t working already) and if she is well shame on her. I don’t think she realizes how her actions not only weakens her character but sets a pretty poor example for her sons. One would hope that they don’t grow up thinking that all women are nothing but gold diggers because that’s exactly what LaShon Dixon looks like.
