Ok, it’s been a year, five months and two days since I last posted an entry.  The past year bought a lot of changes, some good and some bad but I weathered the storm.  The site will be going through some major changes over the next few months to reflect the new direction I will be navigating my world.  Stay tuned.

Jennifer Carter

Jennifer Carter, 45 year old ex DPS employee

So I found out that  in my hometown of Denver, CO, a Denver Public School secretary, Jennifer Carter was accused of duct taping an “unruly” 6 year old on 22 October 2009.  Here’s the article when it was first reported. I don’t care how “unruly” a child may get it does not give anyone license to put their hands on them.  The CO child abuse/neglect laws have seen to that. The following are just some of the comments made in regards to this incident.

“This is a complete overreaction, they put tape on a otherwise uncontrollable kid. Maybe he would not act so ‘Rowdy’ if he had stronger discipline at home. I thing mommy is just looking for a pay out.”-TheGodfather (Nico C)

“Where’s the father? Why is he not disciplining his son? Isn’t this what fathers are supposed to do?

Oh, wait, that’s right, in order for a mother to receive “benefits” (yes, I’m saying it) she must not be married to a husband, or, if she is, he must not be gainfully employed.

Maybe if this mother was more selective in who she procreates with, she would have a strong father-figure in the family that this boy would respect and appropriately fear consequences of misbehavior.

Chalk up another victory in the war on poverty, we’ve created multi-generations of women who don’t worry about having a father around to help raise their children. Why bother when the government will be there instead?”-Alan9074 (Alan M)

“Good for this secretary. Give her a raise. I can remember when I was young and schools were allowed to discipline kids. (With in reason) The key question here was harm done to the kid?”-littlerascal (Larry M)

As you will notice some of the comments made are completely admonishing the child and his mother but not Carter.  On 27 October 2009 charges were filed against Carter and she was arrested. Ashyle Tenner, the mother of the 6 year old stated:

“I’m pleased that the (Police Department) is taking this as seriously as I took it.  I think this will send a message, obviously, to her, but also the principal, who didn’t handle it right, and to the school district that this kind of treatment of children . . . shouldn’t be tolerated.”

One of the things I found most interesting about all of this is that I know of Carter personally and I can honestly say I am NOT a fan.  This a grown ass woman who seems to have lost her ever loving mind.  Carter s a mother of two (adult children) herself so I don’t understand why she didn’t stop to think before she acted.  Yes I do, the woman lacks common sense and she is as manipulative as they come.  Even her own children can’t stand her.  She uses those around her to for personal gain and to try and feel powerful. If one is stupid enough (and believe me I can name 5 right off the top of my head) to fall for her game she will use the personal knowledge she’s learned about you against you later on to do her personal bidding.

Momma always said “You do ugly, you get ugly.”  That might explain why Carter has had heart surgery within the past year, is currently on oxygen and has Type II Diabetes.

Mermaid or Whale

Filed under: General — writely so 365 @ 5:52 PM

I received this in an email.  It certainly makes you think and can be applied to quite a few situations in life.

Recently in a large French city a poster featuring a young, thin and tan woman appeared in the window of a gym.  It said:

This summer do you want to be a mermaid or a whale?

A middle aged woman, whose physical characteristics did not match those on the poster responded publicly to the question posed by the gym.

To Whom It May Concern:

Whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, sea lions and curious humans).  They have an active sex life, they get pregnant and have adorable baby whales.  They have a wonderful time with dolphins stuffing themselves with shrimp.  They play and swim in the seas, seeing wonderful places life Patagonia, the Barren Sea and the coral reefs of Polynesia.  Whales are wonderful singers and have even recorded CDs.  They are incredible creatures and virtually have no predators other than humans.  They are loved, protected and admired by almost everyone in the world.

Mermaids don’t exist.  If they did exist, they would be lining up outside offices of the Argentinean psychoanalysts due to identity crisis.  Fish or human?  They don’t have a sex life because they kill men who get close to them not to mention how could they have sex?  Therefore they don’t have kids either.  Not to mention who want to get close to a girl who smells life a fish store?

The choice is pretty clear to me, I want to be a whole.

We are in an age when media puts into our head the idea that only skinny people are beautiful but I prefer to enjoy an ice cream with my kids, a good dinner with a man who makes me shiver and a piece of chocolate with my friends.  With time we gain weight because accumulate so much information and wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room it distributes out to the rest of our bodies.  So we aren’t heavy, we are enormously cultured, educated and happy.  Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think, “Good gosh, look how smart I am.”

Here’s the next wave of ghetto sensationalism and this is just damn ridiculous. Seriously, this madness has got to stop. If you want to show love for a fashion label/designer that you admire so much then my suggestion would be to save your pennies and buy stock in the company (no less than 10 shares). That way not only are you getting a high return on your investment but you can proudly say that you’re part owner. Make your money work for you and and not the other way around.

It wasn’t until I hit NC that I noticed the latest ghetto sensation. So you take an older model car, paint it and jack it up to look like this. To me this clearly says you’re car rich and property poor. No ma’am-a-lam. Seriously, this is so wrong although we live in a country with a moderate amount of freedom of expression. Lawd have mercy.

Profile Picture Don’ts

Are you wondering why you’re not getting a response to your online dating profile?  Or why you maybe attracting the wrong type of people?  Here’s a list of helpful tips of what not to do when posting profile pictures for online dating or social networking sites.

  1. Don’t wear sunglasses in all of your photos.  You may think it makes you look cool but in actuality it makes you look as if you have something to hide.  Like maybe crossed eyes or a wayward eye?  I’m just saying.
  2. Don’t flip off or give the finger that’s not attractive.  In fact not only does it show your low level of intelligence is but it’s also a major turn off and will get you ignored.
  3. Don’t pose with a group of people.  We really don’t want to have to guess who the hell you are in a group photo.  There are too many mobile phones with cameras so there’s no excuse not to take a quick snapshot of yourself and post it.  Stop being lazy.  Oh and don’t be surprised if you get an email asking about the hot looking male or female next to you in the group photo.  Serves you right.
  4. Don’t pose with a young child.  I find more males do this than females.  That child may be your pride and joy but seriously, it’s a turn off and in some case not only will it get you reported to the site administrator but to local authorities as well.  It may even attract the wrong type of person.  Think about it Einstein.
  5. Don’t mean mug (not smile) we like to see a smile.  Again, what are you trying to hide?  Not only does a smile bring light and personality to your face but I’d like to make sure that you have all of your teeth if not some.
  6. Body shots with no face or vice versa.  These type of pictures can be so misleading I mean if all you see are pictures of a great body and no face is attached to it (or vice versa) that should raise a red flag.  Something is  not right.  You might have the body of Adonis and a face like a pug.  Now I know that looks aren’t everything but you shouldn’t be misleading either.  That’s false advertisement.
  7. Partial face pictures (side profile, from the nose up or the nose down) are so not the business.  We want to see the entire face so stop acting like you’re posing for America’s Next Top Model.  The judges would send you home with a quickness because you’re giving the same tired expression each and every time.
  8. Flashing money.  Seriously this is not a damn Diddy video.  If you’re trying to prove that you have a job or money you really don’t have to flash it to prove it.  If anything you’re going to attract a grifter that will take you for everything you have before moving on.
  9. Don’t post pictures of cartoons or celebrties (i.e. T.I., Piles, Ciara, etc.) that means you’re not as attractive as you say you are in your profile.  Besides celebrties don’t need to be on the site like you especially when they can get what you’re looking for, for free.
  10. Don’t pose in a dirty bathroom.  I get that sometimes the best lighting is in the bathroom but come on, if your bathroom is dirty (i.e. unflushed toilet with the top up, messy countertop/sink, dirty shower.  You get the picture) then you need to clean that mess up.  Nobody and I mean nobody wants to see that crap.  It’s disgusting.
  11. It’s so not a good idea to wear your work badge/ID or uniform.  This could land you a fatal attraction or two and/or get your dumbass fired.
  12. Shiny lips on guys does not convey a good message, to the ladies anyway.  So when you see that your inbox is full of messages don’t get mad when you find out the senders are all male. 🙂
  13. Pictures of your car or a car.  Really?  I mean it’s good that you have a means of transportation but if you have a picture of your car as your main profile picture that means you really don’t have much else going on in your life.  That you’re inviting the potential people that you’re bound to piss off to either key it or bust out the windows.  Or that car fanatic that’s been looking for those 22 you have to come and take them.
  14. Taking pictures of other pictures.  I don’t even know what to say about this.  Oh, wait yes I do.  Stop it!  Refer to number 3.
  15. Using photos that are five years or older.  If you know that your happy ass no longer looks like you did five, ten years ago then that don’t post it.  If you’re serious about meeting people face to face then post a current photo of yourself.  Do you really want to suffer the embarrassment of getting cursed out or someone walking away from you after introductions have been made?  Think people.

If I’ve missed any please feel free to add them to the comment section below.
